I wanted these three pieces to be a collection in which ideas
and gestures respond to each other. What I call the “world’s
prose” would be like an ensemble of phrases that need to be
linked (as poets link words) through active listening. Resonances, silences, bouncing rhythms, jagged, nervous sound pixels and percussive mechanics punctuate this music. But it’s nevertheless a song that runs through all three pieces.
A song that must be carried within oneself, expressed and given to others.
The song of the piano is unique, and the way in which it can be phrased, even with two fingers (a simple minor third, for example), can be of great poetic intensity. That is what I wanted to exalt in this music, by offering landscapes you can draw yourself. The “world’s prose”, this reality that we share, that we need to observe finely, to reenchant madly and rigorously, art being, more than ever, the most urgent of signals to send out.

J’ai voulu ces trois pièces comme un recueil où les idées, les gestes se répondent. Ce que j’appelle “la prose du monde” serait comme un ensemble de phrases qu’il faut relier (ainsi que les poètes relient les mots) par une écoute active. Des résonances, silences, rythmes bondissants, pixels sonores découpés et nerveux, mécaniques percussives ponctuent ces musiques. Mais c’est pourtant un chant qui traverse ces trois pièces. Un chant qu’il faut porter en soi, énoncer en le réinventant.
Le chant du piano est unique et la manière dont on peut le phraser, même avec deux doigts (une simple tierce mineure par exemple), peut s’avérer d’une grande intensité poétique. C’est ce que j’ai voulu exalter dans ces musiques en proposant des paysages à tracer soi-même.
